not the billionaires
The People’s Party
Our vision is a major new progressive populist party that will deliver what regular people take for granted in so many other countries: single-payer health care, free public college, money out of politics, an infrastructure jobs program, a $15 minimum wage, financial regulations, and more.
We need actual representation in our government. A majority of people in the US don’t feel represented by either the Democratic or Republican parties. We’ve watched these parties turn their backs on us to answer every call of the billionaires and donors. Overwhelming numbers of Americans understand these parties cannot be salvaged. Polls show that almost two out of three Americans are now calling for a major new party. It’s time to build the party we’re looking for — one that brings us all together.

One week after the Democratic and Republican national conventions, people from all walks of life came together to discuss forming a major new party in America. More than a million people watched students, labor leaders, scientists, journalists, academics, comedians, activists, nonprofit leaders, and a former Democratic presidential candidate address the nation at The People’s Convention.
The historic gathering was covered widely in the mainstream and independent press and was nationally trending throughout the full five-hour program. At the conclusion of the Convention, attendees overwhelmingly voted in favor of, “forming a major new political party free of corporate money and influence in 2021.”

When the pandemic reached our shores, the Democrats and Republicans spent trillions of dollars bailing out Wall Street but refused to bailout the people. As a result, more than 50 million Americans applied for unemployment and small businesses were devastated. More than 40 million faced eviction and child hunger reached record levels. The corporate parties had turned the pandemic into a depression.
So in July, we brought together a coalition to demand that Congress pass an emergency People’s Stimulus, including Medicare for all and $2,000 a month basic income. Together we led more than 50 marches and honking car caravans to the homes of members of Congress and Senators across the country.
