Expanded unemployment benefits and moratoriums on evictions and foreclosures are expiring at the end of July. We are less than three weeks away from 45 million people losing their unemployment lifelines and 23 million people facing eviction into a pandemic. Our unprecedented actions today will show Congress that if they don't want all of those people showing up at their homes with us, they had better pass a #PeoplesStimulus.
Because both parties have failed to stand with working people in their time of greatest need, organizers will march on Democrats and Republicans alike. Thirty-eight marches and rallies are on the action events map with more being planned. The rallies will be nonviolent, masks are required, and we will observe social distancing while calling for emergency relief.
If the Democrats and Republicans in Congress cannot bring themselves to guarantee health care, housing, a basic income, and freedom from police brutality and crushing debt in the middle of this global pandemic, economic meltdown, and nationwide uprising, then they will never pass them.
Republicans have declared that the fourth round of coronavirus stimulus in late July will be the last and Democrats are going along with it. That means that if we are going to get the emergency people’s bailout that they promised, it’s now or never. The stakes on our pandemic action just skyrocketed.
This Juneteenth weekend is a rare moment for our communities to proclaim in one voice that Black Lives Matter and that we are united like never before in demanding racial justice.
The People’s Party will unite working people into the largest party in America in the next four years. We will get ballot access nationwide, send representatives to Congress in the midterms, win the presidency in 2024, and revolutionize this country.
With historic unemployment and poverty gripping the country, and militarized police forces brutalizing Americans after Minneapolis PD murdered George Floyd, our survival depends taking bold action.
If Americans want the rebellion to end, the solution lies not with the military nor with the police placing bricks at peaceful demonstrations in a deliberate effort to instigate violence. The solution requires systemic change.
We are calling for an end to the systemic racism that plagues the overwhelming majority of black communities across America. Black American citizens have suffered in silence for far too long.
