The Congress is the keeper of the purse strings of America,
They spend our hard-earned money on all sorts of esoterica.
The bailout money’s earmarked for their banker friends and lobbyists,
While families with kids are relegated to the waiting list.
The one per cent, though tiny, is a powerful monopoly
With absolute control of the Congressional duopoly.
The linens in their restrooms are all made of finest cottonwool,
And bigwigs at the Pentagon get dollars by the bucketful.
Our infrastructure’s crumbling and our health care’s unaffordable,
Tough luck for us, because you see, we’re just not that awardable.
The one per cent, though tiny, is a powerful monopoly
With absolute control of the Congressional duopoly.
The money flows to companies like Honeywell and Raytheon
While making massive cuts to programs that we all rely upon.
They plan to take a hammer to our meager social safety net;
It’s hard to find a common good those bastards haven’t plundered yet.
The one per cent, though tiny, is a powerful monopoly
With absolute control of the Congressional duopoly.
